in 1975. During academic year it meets on Tuesdays at 12:30 in room 3.06, Jadranska 21.
It covers topics in complex analysis, complex geometry, harmonic analysis, and
partial differential equations.

Research interests and grants

My research interests lie in complex analysis, analytic geometry, Riemann surfaces, minimal surfaces, and holomorphic contact geometry. In 2009, I introduced in the literature the class of
Oka Manifolds, so named after
Kiyoshi Oka.
This class is in a precise sense dual to the class of
Stein manifolds
and is opposite to the class of
hyperbolic manifolds.
Oka theory
is the subject of my monograph
Stein Manifolds and Holomorphic Mappings (Springer, 2011 and 2017).
The subject received
MSC 2020
classification 32Q56 Oka principle and Oka manifolds.
I am also interested in applications of complex analysis to minimal surfaces, the topic
on which I coauthored the monograph
Minimal Surfaces from a Complex Analytic Viewpoint (with A. Alarcón and F. J. López,
Springer 2021), as well as in holomorphic contact geometry.

Research activities of program members cover a wide array of topics in complex analysis
and geometry, global analysis, minimal surfaces, harmonic analysis, spectral theory of
operators, partial differential equation, special functions, and integrable systems.
Since 2023, I also coordinate the 5year ERC Advanced grant HPDR, 101053085,
